For a government small enough to fit inside the Constitution

We've already had several requests from people wanting to join Mike's next campaign and the Libertarian Party. How exciting!

A (partial) Victory!

   Governor
100 of 100 counties Reporting
    Percent  Votes
 Michael Munger-L   2.87%   121,229
 Bev Perdue-D   50.22%   2,120,968
 Pat McCrory-R   46.90%   1,980,768

You know by now that Dr. Munger will not be the next governor of North Carolina. It was never realistic to think he might be. The campaign did achieve its two most important goals:

Work for Mike on Election Day! Here's How!

Why work the polls? Does it really do any good? YES! Volunteer experiences at the early voting polls show that while most folks have their minds made up for president when they get to the polls, many are still thinking about the Governor's race. Our volunteers report that folks are eager to hear about the Libertarian alternative and have heard good things about Mike Munger. One volunteer reports that early voting pollwork was a great experience - very attentive and positive reaction from all I spoke with.

Munger's Ol' Fashioned Back Roads Campaign, Murphy to Whalebone

Mike will close his campaign for governor with an "Old Fashioned, Hand-Shaking, Back Roads and Small Towns" tour of North Carolina. The tour will begin in Murphy, NC on Friday morning, Oct. 31, and proceed along every inch of US 64, across the entire state and ending with a jump in the ocean in Whalebone, NC on Sunday, Nov. 2.

Update! As promised, Dr. Mike has begun to "blog" about the tour. Find his comments here.

Debate Story

A supporter took some photos of Mike at (and after) the televised debate. The gallery is here.

The debate was an excellent event from Dr. Munger's viewpoint. The opponents often sniped at each other, leaving Dr. Munger to just answer the question.

Embolden Munger's unique voice

For the first time in its history, the Duke Chronicle has endorsed a Libertarian candidate. Voters are urged to use their vote to embolden Munger's unique voice.

The paper call Munger's policy proposals "innovative" and it praised Dr. Munger for "unflinching criticism of the state's corrupt political machines."

Two candidates' views (yes, again)

It's not state wide TV; it's a video survey. GenerationEngage is a nonpartisan youth-civic-engagement initiative that connects young Americans to political leaders, to other civic organizations, and to meaningful debate about the future they will inherit.

Video answers to seven youth oriented questions by two of the candidates are here.

Watch the Debate!

All three candidates for governor were together for the first time. It was a first for history. We hope you saw it live. If not, check it out on YouTube. The debate in six parts can be found here.

At the Fair!

Mike is just one of the many volunteers who enjoyed meeting people at the fair. Many people wanted to talk to a Libertarian after both Mike Munger and Bob Barr have gotten exposure in the papers and on TV, recently.

Coincidence fit for a movie...?

2nd UNC-TV Debate Now Online

Wednesday, Oct. 8, Dr. Munger debated Pat McCrory on UNC-TV. This was the second debate to be televised statewide. If you missed it Wednesday evening, you can now watch the debate online!

After the debate, emails for Mike started rolling in, including this comment from Annie Brown:

I am registered unaffiliated, with Democratic leanings. After tonight's debate there is no doubt I will be voting for Dr. Munger and will be encouraging others to do so.
